Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

[ English ]
  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You typically put a wager (a dollar is the normal value) to try to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of $25,000. Although big jackpots like these are extremely alluring, they are also particularly hard to succeed. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, think about this- you play 20 hands and make the side bet every time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds employing that 20 dollars.
  • Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the overall house edge from 2percent with one zero wheel to a whopping five% in American. The individual number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers as a substitute which have a much smaller casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you wager on it, the casino edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that wasn’t a typo. Because of the huge amount of numbers you must choose, it is not advisable to wager on Keno to often. A few times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not waste all your money on it or you will quickly discover yourself broke.
